Burnout 3 Takedown is an intense racing game that has a variety of racing events.
You can race in a single race event, you compete in the World Event mode where you get to compete in different types of events in the US, Europe and Asia. Events range from Races, Face-off, Burning lap (Time Trial), Crash event, Road Rage, and Eliminator.
The most exciting IMO, is Race mode, Road Rage and Eliminator. You can gain boost by ramming your rival racer's off the road into guard rails, and other vehicles which is really fun in a driving game. If your vehicle crash into an object, or another vehicle you can push down the R1 button and use the analog stick to steer your wrecked vehicle into a rival racer. This move is called an Aftertouch Takedown, and if you manage to pull off an Aftertouch Takedown, then you can gain boost. If you hold down the R1 button your car can go fast. You can build up your boost bar by taking risk such as driving on the wrong side of the road and try to manuever around the traffic coming towards you. You can also perform a drift if executed properly increase you boost bar, and shunt, and tailgate your rivals in a race. You can earn awards for performing challenging tricks in a race such as performing a double or triple takedown, doing a double Aftertouch Takedown, doing a Signature Takedown (which is hard to pull off) and so forth. You get some cool pictures of Signature Takedowns you perform. You get to unlock events and unlock cars for getting 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any mode you play.
Eliminator is when you compete against 5 other racers, after the end of each lap the person who is in last place gets eliminated. It's quite challenging and very fun. Face-off mode is when you race 1on1 with a racer, if you win the race you get to unlock that car you beat.
Crash mode is when you ram your vehicle into a bunch of vehicles, buses and trucks and earn lots of money for the carnage you created.
The annoying parts of the game is the DJ for "Crash FM". I find him annoying and I don't find the DJ necessary for the game. Another thing I find frustrating is that you can't bump civilian cars and vans off the road, if you try it whether or not if it's intentional, you crash, and game developers could've been generous to allow checking cars that are in your way, only if you are driving on the right side of the road. Also, when racing in Europe or Asia, you mainly drive on the left side of the road, which can throw you off completely. You can go so fast in boost that it can be so difficult to manuever around traffic, let alone sunlight can blind your vision while racing, including smoke. While doing Aftertouch Takedown, it is difficult to see who is coming to pass you and sometimes the smoke you are leaving behind can affect your vision.
Burnout 3 Takedown is a fun game to play, you get to play a varitey of modes and have intense races. It's a driving game that is one of a kind.
