Burnout 3 Takedown first came out in September of 2004 and was later re-released in November of 2008 as part of the Anthology pack. Burnout 3 Takedown is a very fun game with an interesting twist to traditional racing. Instead of racing on a track and just trying to finish first Burnout 3 Takedown is all about racing but instead of trying just to finish first player can smash their opponents and take them out temporarily. Players can also try to create as much mayhem as possible in one of Takedown's modes known crash events.

Takedown's graphics are pretty good but have one minor problem. During crash scenes the engine compartment of players vehicles appear 2D and no sort of depth and detail to them. Aside from that the graphics look great. The locations look life like and there's a good amount of light to allow players to see where they're going as well as what lies ahead of them as well as depth and detail to the locations. The main thing that stands out in terms of the graphics is the crashes themselves. They look incredible and believable at the same time and look like what the cars would do going at the speeds that players are going at during gameplay.

Takedown's gameplay is solid and feels very well executed. Players can slam, shunt and all around bash their opponents to take them down and get boost which enables them to go faster. There are however some downsides. The first on is that one on one races feel a little unfair as the AI seems to go way faster than their car should be able to go. This may frustrate players at times especially since these events are to acquire new cars for them to use. The other problem is that music does not play during crash events at all. This kind of takes that sort rocking good time thing away during these events.

Takedown's audio is superb but has one minor flaw. The flaw is the DJ in the Takedown as he interrupts songs just to yap. Luckily he can be turned off and players can focus on listening to the great selection of tunes all the while racing their heads off. The selection of the bands for the most part is great and really helps to set the pace for Takedown very well.

Overall Burnout 3 Takedown is a great game that is easily recommendable to players that like to go fast and wreck things.
