Brute force is the repetive, unpolished, third person cousin of Halo.

Brute force is fun for several hours. And if you don't mind playing while bored...it's a good game to play through.

Great graphics with ragdoll and physics make it look great. The weapons are varied but the sounds are just annoying.

The part that makes Brute force stand out is the Co-op game play. You can have two, three, even four people helping each other against aliens and troops that spawn in hordes.

The problem there is...the more players, the more lag. And even with only two people playing, it gets rather glitchy around explosions and ragdolls. But it not enough to make it unplayable, and still runs great on the xbox. The guns at the begenning are cool. Sniper rifles, shotguns, lazers. Until about halfway into the story the levels and weapons get a terrible make over. Too many of the same sounding and look alike blasters and beam weapontry flood onto the battlefield. And the battle field looses its cool, tropical glam that it had earlier in the game. No longer you are in forests but just rocky, magma pool riddened clifts and mountians.

The grenades are always fresh but I wish that you could throw them while moving...

This game is a great example of good design that turns out to be short lived. Thought out only around the begenning of the project. The Characters to pick from (Tex -heavy weapons, Brutus -lizard, fast shotguns, Hawk -Stealth, and some android chick - sniping) are cool, but die to fast and lose your money too easily when following you on auto pilot during combat.

After you play Brute force, you will see that it has botential that it never really lived up to. Maybe in the future game will learn from others mistakes and really strive to create an innovative game rather than rushing through the end and put too many rocket troopers.
