Yeah and then... No. Missed opportunities (Contains some spoilers, read at will)

I have been anticipating Brutal Legend for as long as it was announced, patiently waiting for a Psychonauts sequel, or just another Tim.S outing, was enough hype for me. I didn't expect this game to be Psychonauts, but I did expect better.

When you play the game at start, you are greeted with an hack and slash, what I would like to say.... deception. This starts off as a promising and fun introduction, and I said to myself "Wow this is great!" You get the Duece(Eddies Hot rod car) drive down to where you'll fight this huge worm, and as I said, it starts off like an action game, GTA style mission based game.

Later on, starting at the part where you'll free headbangers from the mines, you see the game turn into an RTS, at first I thought none of it, thinking that they would be nothing more than a summon when things get hard. But no, this game goes full on 3rd person command RTS, with hack and slash and sandbox elements. The controls can sometimes be confusing, and you aren't given a clue to most things. The navigation is bad also, you're given the statement of "Follow your turn signals) instead of giving us a mini map, we are given turn signals to follow, which can sometimes be nerve wracking, I find my self using the pause map, and just try to get to the points as best I can.

Visually, this game is stunning, the world is beautiful, it's huge, and is a great work of fantasy, it looks like the cover of a metal album all through which I think Tim was trying to catch here. I mean I could just ride around this all day, slaying the Animals, and having fun in Deuce, it's a dream come true in my eyes, as a long term gamer, a visually stunning sandbox game that's not just some huge city.

The characters are uninspired, Jack Black humor; which to me comes off as this sort of Judd Apatow style bad humor seriousness balance, is not good here with Eddie Riggs, and I much rather have a more whimsical voice to this character. This game alone made me realized how unfunny Jack Black being himself isn't funny(unlike is roles like Nacho Libre, when he's in character) he's boring, and I can't really tell if he's seriously or not, sometimes. Other than that, the only characters that I found great were Lemmy( The Kill Master), and Lars, everyone else were boring, save for Magnus.

The game should have been a full hack and slash, more of what the demo/beginning of the game gave, before the old bait and switch.

That is all.
