I must admit that at first glance I scoffed at the thought of a classic PC game being anything remotely correct or entertaining ported to the Wii. I was wrong! Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars stole my attention and left me laughing all the way to the very end. The Wii controls are an excellent way for all those old point and click style PC adventure games to be replayed and enjoyed. Furthermore, this is also a perfect time for all those director's and developers from the Old School to add content, expand story-lines, and even create completely new ideas and places. That is exactly what the guys & gals at Revolution Software have done with Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (Director's Cut). Revolution added a new series of play areas and also completely new character perspectives that not only intertwine with the Original Storyline, but also Expands your imagination with intensely more complex puzzles and quests. However, don't let the words 'complex puzzles' scare you. Revolution has added one of the Best Help Systems in recent game design. If you spend too much time doing the wrong things, it will guide you slowly in the right direction without any spoilers. The whole game is playable by anyone that is able to read. It does have some adult-ish humor, but at the same time, it does not offend anyone, similar to a Shrek movie for example.
Overall, I suggest that you give this gem a chance and play through it once. The old school gamers will enjoy the added perspectives and story-lines, not to mention the bonus content that can be unlocked after the first playthrough. Enjoy a classic PC Adventure Puzzler, without sitting at the Monitor by yourself. Sit in the T.V. Room and play Broken Sword as a group. I promise that you'll thank me for it. However, if your looking for a fast-paced action game, DO NOT play this style game and then complain. Broken Sword is meant to be Explored and Immersed into slowly. This game is a classic, but it is for the slower-paced gamer. Enjoy!
