An RPG that is -never- looked it, but has true potential. Though it may have a few setbacks, it is an RPG of it's time.

First, I'm going to say for storyline reasons this is my -favorite- game, and yes I rate it a 9 /10 because it has some game issues. I will always think storyline wise this is best in series, but if you like this series, know this.
Breath of Fire I - Solid game and background
Breath of Fire II - Best Storyline!
Breath of Fire III - Best Gameplay, but not storyline
Breath of Fire VI - Solid, but no special qualities
On with the review...
The good:
The best Storyline
A VERY unique fighting system.
Decently long for the snes, if you know the snes has short memory compared to the games these days.
Good Graphics and cut scenes for the system, and some of the best music ever.
The Bad:
Item based, so leveling past 40+ isn't needed, and this also makes the bosses at the end really hard at 99
Some hard controls; and you don't get easy transportation until the end
Bad translations!
All in all 9/10 Defiantly play if you like RPGs
Also try out III, it is very nice
