Fantastic, splitscreen is ok.

User Rating: 8.5 | Blur X360
Blur is fantastic. Apart from a few faults.
The basic idea of the game is to race around one of the many tracks, while shooting, blowing up, beating, and colliding with your other opponents. For me, when buying, it was either this or Split Second. The reason i chose this was because, as amazing as Split Second looked and played on the demo, i could see myself getting bored quickly, as I would start to learn the tracks. With Blur, I could keep coming back for more.
These are the power ups: Shunt: a deadly weapon which, when you fire, follows your opponent until it hits them, Shield: what it says on the tin, Nitro: a speed boost, Bolts: three sharp bullets fired in a straight line, Barge: A weapon that when activated near an opponent blows them to kingdom come, and a Mine: a weapon you drop and when an opponent hurtles into it, they blow up.
The campaign is a series of 'Rivals'. A rival is basically a boss. For each rival, you have to complete different tasks on a checklist, e.g. fire a shunt backwards and hit somebody three times. If you complete all the tasks, you can race the rival. If you beat the rival, you unlock the next rival, as well as gaining the rivals car.
You also get lights. You earn lights by coming first, second or third in a race. First earns you five lights, second earns you four, and third earns you three. One of the tasks on the checklist is to get a certain amount of lights.
However, racing is not the only campaign challenge. There is Checkpoint, where you race around the track trying to get to the next checkpoint in time, Destruction, where the only power up is Bolts and you have to shoot as many cars as you can, and of course One on One where you race the boss after you have completed the tasks. For all of these challenges you earn lights.
Now for multiplayer. The online is fantastic. You go up ranks after you win races and other challenges. At rank 50, you unlock a new car, a Legend car, and go back to rank one, similar to Call of Duty.
There are a few different online racing modes, and a great challenge called Motor Mash. The aim of Motor Mash is to kill your opponent in whatever way you like.
Offline multiplayer is not so great. In split screen racing, you do not get a rear view mirror. it has the same fun effect of the campaign and online though. You can also play motor mash and the other racing modes in offline multiplayer.
There are some great small features in the game including photo mode which lets you edit the photos you take, and Twitter and Facebook sharing capabilities where you can send friends who have the game challenges for them to complete even if you do not have Xbox Live Gold, which is required for Online play.
Overall I say that Blur is a great game that will keep you coming back for more, and is well worth buying.
