Flat, opaque, graphically outdated. Week AI. Only for few very interested to the subject.

User Rating: 4 | Birth of America II: Wars in America 1750-1815 PC
Wars in America, (WIA) is the last of AGEod property engine based games, published some six months ago.
The game introduces very few new issues in comparison to old BOA, Birth of America.
Features as chains of command, marching to the sound of guns, war economy and national war effort management, leader promotions and many other features experimented with AACW and NCP, (previous AGEod games) were not introduced in the game.
As a result, the game is flat, opaque with an outdated graphic.
Bugs, AI weakness, occasional crashes till affect the game, although some patches have been posted.
If you have already tried BOA the small improvements (new units, some minor scenarios added, an enlarged map, the tactical matrix) are not sufficient to have you buying it.
If you are new to the game and very interested in XVIII century warfare you could consider buying it. Anyway, keep mind AGEod WIA is a grand-strategy game, mainly going after logistical aspects of the war rather than an operational game.
Indeed, looking to the low performing AI, you have just to keep your forces alive, providing them with logistic support, while AI waste own forces moving them around in wild areas and harsh weather seasons until they are wiped out.
Anyway the game is very slow and player will need seasons to achieve some local gains.
For players looking to an operational level game and some more action the game could be not worth the money to buy it.
I strongly recommend to try the demo to get a personal feeling before decision to buy or pass over.
