The underwater game of the century... or the 50's at least.

User Rating: 8.5 | BioShock PS3
After taking my first (and very late in the time of gaming) romp through Rapture this year, I was expecting a full out game of the year, based on the reviews. I will say, the game is good... really good. However, just a couple of minor details softened the experience for me.

Pros-
- Good story and acting
- Graphics are excellent
- The enclosed corridors are creepy
- The adding of plasmids beef up the experience
- Big Daddies are fun to fight
- The weapon upgrades are sweet
- Suprisingly good length for a FPS

Cons-
- The moral choices seemed kind of dry
- Some plasmids are going to be severely over used (if you play it, I won't need to explain)
- The end boss battle sucked, like, really bad
- Ending was dissappointing
- The game is too easy
- Not much replayability

All of the pros are self explanatory, but I want to touch up on a few cons.

First off, when I say the moral choices are dry, I mean that there is no real reason to be evil. You are given enough ADAM to buy enough plasmids you want. The extra amount given to you for being evil is so minor, it isn't worth noting.

Secondly, the boss battle is terrible and too easy. I mean, 1/4 of the bosses health is going to be removed just to start the fight.

The endings (both of them) leave you wanting more (there is Bioshock 2, so your Rapture loving void may be filled.)

Lastly, the game is way too easy. The vita chambers make it impossible to "lose." You can remove vita chambers, but then, that makes for a steep raising of the difficulty.

All and all, Bioshock is fun and mildly creepy while it lasts. Just don't expect yourself to want to revisit Rapture to often, for more reasons that one.
