1st Impressions: Larry-Boy makes his game debut, and younger audiences will rejoice.
The Bad: Visuals aren't very good, older gamers will get bored fast.

Larry-Boy, played by Larry the Cucumber get's his debut on the Playstation 2 with Larry-Boy and the Bad Apple, a video game adaptation of the Veggietales video of the same name. You, of course play as Larry-Boy as you fight to keep the city of Bumblyburg safe from villiany. The Bad Apple promotes the evils of temptation, and it's up to Larry-Boy to fight his own temptations to keep the city safe. The game is a very good adaptation of the video, and does include some scenes from the movie in it, but it's biggest problem is that it is a fairly generic platformer that doesn't appeal to older gamers. You jump, fire a squirt gun, solve a puzzle or two and jump some more. You obviously shouldn't expect any violence from a Christian-themed video game, but I did expect more querkyness of the videos to be included in the game. The game controls ok, but isn't nearly as smooth as it should be. The visuals are definately colorful, but aren't very eye pleasing. The voice acting by the actual video cast is decent, but sounds robotic and not emotional. It's good to see another Christian themed game hit the market, but I really wish that it was a better game than it turned out to be. On the bright side, my younger brother loves this game, which he is the target audience, so that's a good thing. Overall, Larry-Boy and the Bad Apple is worth buying just to support Big Idea and their beliefs. Hardcore VeggieTales fans will also get some enjoyment out of it, but it isn't exactly a showstopping budget title.
Gameplay: Generic platforming and lack of some of the querkieness of the videos keeps Larry-Boy from being decent.
Graphics: The PS2 has much better visuals than this.
Sound: Voice acting is decent, but wooden at the same time.
Value: My younger brother baught this for $5 at Walmart. It's definately worth buying at that price.
