Streets of rage fan's should like this little number, not brilliant but certainly worth the money.

User Rating: 7.5 | Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance PS2
Hi there, I'm just going to type a simple list covering what's good and bad.

Graphics, there as good as they should be, Capcom are quite good at throwing games like this out onto the market for 'the few' to enjoy. Beat Down isn't the prettiest game (tis very violent, capcom does not tend to throw money at titles like this) but it's as good as it needs to be, trust me.

Sound, repetetive but simple enough to go pretty much unoticed, there are some really 'cool' sound bites that make you go "very cool" and later they fade into foretyped unoticed. The tunes are cool and authentically retro which plays a huge part in my opinion.

Gameplay, top concept but sadly I think the budget stops it being a Devil May Cry but again I don't think this was the intention, it's a mix of fury and fun, the fact that you can kill people and most will stay dead, do damage to characters (bloody faces and so on) the list goes on.......... basically think, streets of rage/fighting force but much more cool with some added features similar to GTA like hair cuts new cloths and stuff...... something cool that I ain't used yet is a plastic surgery feature, I don't expect anything awsome but a cool idea.

In conclusion this is a game for people that can fill in the blanks and enjoy doing so, if you like fighting anime and retro games then you'll really like this game. It's far from being a 10/10 but I'd pick the under dog anyday.
