This is a game that has some problems, but otherwise it is a well-rounded game with great music and fun gameplay.

So what if it has outdated graphics? It is still a great game. The settings are cool and the music is rocking! There are 2 warring factions: the Maximals and the Predicons, both stranded on a barren planet reminiscent of Earth. They discover the planet is rich with a strange mineral known as Energon. It turns out to be in such great quantities that it becomes toxic to these Transformers, forcing them to use animals from the local area to transform into. The Predicons intend to rule the galaxy with this new found energy source and it is up to the Maximals to stop them. Thus the Beast Wars begin! With 5 starting characters and unlockable bonus characters, this game allows you to play as your favorite Beast Wars character from the evil Megatron to the heroic Optimus Primal. Even if you have never seen the show, you will love how cool this game is. Transform into robot form and wreak havoc on the enemy with chain guns, lasers and rockets as you go through the ever increasing difficulty of the game. I wish they used the original voices from the show but you can't have everything. There is a bad side to this game though that keeps it from being perfect. It is annoying to go through the game and constantly have to change from beast mode to robot form all the while leaving yourself open to attacks. Another problem is getting the unlockable character; I have only gotten the character 3 times without cheating. And why is that? The level is too freaking hard! Trying to lock on to airborne enemies can be a pain as the target reticule often fails to follow your camera. But overall if you can overcome these obstacles, Beast Wars proves to be a game that is fun for years to come.
