I have to agree with the others; what framerate problems? what excessive load times?

User Rating: 9 | Bayonetta PS3
I pre-ordered this game shortly after I played the demo, but I felt something heavy in my chest when I kept reading that the PS3 version had technical issues. Regardless, I figured I'd go through with buying the game, and try to have fun with it.

Honestly, this game is the perfect example why you should really take any review with a grain of salt (including this one?) DON'T pass this game up just because the 16 year olds at IGN told you the game is "plagued with technical issues" In fact when you're on the fence, just rent the game and see for yourself. If you're like me, you'll be scratching your head, wondering "where the hell are these supposed frame rate drops I was promised!?"

The framerate drops are barely noticeable, and you actually have to look for them to see them (I'm sure Gamespot intentionally tried to measure this game up with the XBox 360 version, pixel for pixel). And as someone else said, the most annoying load time I've ever seen was when you're pausing the game, or accessing the menus (select on the PS3 version) but honestly, I've seen MUCH worse load times before. Sure, they might be a bit faster on the 360 version, but that's not to say the PS3 game belongs in the trash.

Quite the contrary. If you're just looking for a fun, exciting game from start to finish, and don't care if the game isn't 100% revolutionary to the game industry, then I'd definitely say look into this game. Saying the game "isn't 100% revolutionary" doesn't mean boring or generic. Bayonetta builds on mechanics from games like Devil May Cry, and the like. Some say it's TOO MUCH like Devil May Cry, but I still think it's a great game to play through. The game does have some borderline cheap moments, but nowhere near as bad as some of the other games in this genre. If you're a fan of these kinds of games, I sincerely doubt you'll throw this game out anytime soon.

I'm fairly sure almost all the user reviews on here that confirm that there are framerate issues, excessive load times, etc. more than likely found them because they were looking for them (or they just wanted to add another review to their repertoire). I'm sure if you put most any game under a microscope, you'll find some unpleasant aspects about it, but if you don't notice them through a normal play-through, then what's the big deal?

Bottom line: Give the game a shot. A FAIR shot. Hell, sometimes in the game I have even kept an eye out for laggy frame rate, and never once spotted it. The only person whose opinion you can trust in this scenario, is your own. Rent the game and if you're like me--you love these kinds of action games, and you're skeptical about playing a game with technical issues--I'm sure you'll be happy with it!
