World of...Galactica? Really?

I'm going to keep this short because this game was dead to me as soon as I started flying. If a game is going to call itself "Batlestar Galactica", it needs to incorporate Newtonian Physics into its flight model. The emblematic effect used in the show is the retro thrusters the fighters used to strafe and dodge enemy fire, and yet here the only controls given are the basic pitch, yaw and thrust, without even a roll command! Boomer even says, in the show, that all fighters MUST have pitch, yaw, roll and thrust in order to have control! And Bigpoint wonders why so many people HATE the control scheme? In the show, the Viper Mk II would gracefully maneuver using a technique that looked a lot like drifting in racing games. Because of Newtonian Physics, a fighter could be facing the exact opposite direction that it is traveling and shoot backwards at enemies behind it, or could be traveling 90 degrees from its heading to hit a target to its side. This game doesn't even attempt to emulate that.

In short, if you really love the Battlestar Galactica universe, go buy Freelancer and download the "Nightstalker's Universe" mod. It's better than this piece of garbage and despite being built on a 7 year old game, Digital Anvil was smart enough to make flying in space feel like flying in space. If I wanted clunky, autoattack and keyboard based mechanics, I'd play WoW. Come on SyFy, get your act together and get me a real BSG game.
