Classic board games compiled for the DS, seems like nirvana but isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I'm a sucker for retro and classic games. I get excited when I see old school compilations and I am always excited to play my favorite board games on my handheld.

Largely, these games play much like the board games they are based on. I have one very large complaint with this game...the multiplayer. What is Battleship without another player to compete against? Sure you can play other folks but everyone must have their own copy in order to play. What a ripoff! Come on, who wants to buy four copies of this game in order to have a family game night on the DS? Let me put it this way, do you have to purchase four Connect Four boards to play in "real life"? Ofcourse not and you shouldn't have to on the DS either!

I'll just stick to the board game versions until DSI/Hasbro stops being so cheap and allows single-card play. I'm sure some will disagree with me but I have no desire to play any of these games against the computer. This game could have provided our family some enjoyment as we travel but I'm not purchasing four games regardless of the price.

As a side note, my thanks go out to all the fine companies that allow single-card downloads. When I see that feature I am much more quick to purchase.
