User Rating: 7.5 | Battlefield Heroes PC
Battlefield heroes is a very interesting game. first of it's free so if you are having problems with money just download the game off of Ea. Simple and easy. You do have to register.
When you first look at this game it has a cartoony childish type of look slapped onto it. That is how it is, but don't let it deter you from pressing that download button. For a game in it's genre it is increasingly fun and will have you coming back.
The premise of the game is simple and won't really affect you at all aside from who you fight against. You have the Royals and the Nationals. The game is basically world war 2 with a different outlook.
You view this outlook through the eyes of three character classes you have to chose from.
First there is the commando. If you want snipers rifle combined with stealth, booby traps then this is your character. As you play him you'll find yourself hanging back just a little bit to pop of that killer headshot. His abilities that you gain through hero points tend to go to the damage the enemy side, with a margin of team effects. You gain these hero points buy leveling up, or ranking up. There are multiple ways to gain exp for these levels such as capturing flags but the easiest and what you'll most likely end up doing is through killing.
Second is the soldier. He is your basic everything man. His submachine gun is akin to the Thompson and mp40 of world war 2. His abilities tend to effect everyone as a whole. But like the Commando he is equipped with skills that can take down the toughest of foes by himself. You'll get bullets that set other on fire and grenade spam. Which as it says, it basically means you have a handful of grenades and chuck em'. You'll also be called a medic while playing as these guys considering they are the only class with the ability to heal others. So I stand saying that he is an all around guy, team player or not.
Third is your brute gunner. They carry big guns and throw barrels of exploding power at you. In a smarter sense use them as meat shields. A gunner is probably the more durable of the other two, but don't get me wrong he can go down just as easily. His preference are machine guns that spew bullets faster then the speed of light.
Lastly it is time to talk about the game as a whole. The classes are enjoyable but at times i feel like something is missing. Considering there is only one multiplayer mode and a handful of maps. You do however get to mess around with vehicles.
I feel this game has a lot for it, but at the same time it doesn't have enough.
Instead of this game I'd suggest Cross Fire or Combat arms. Those games have much more content, but for some reason i find myself coming back. Maybe it's cause it has that ranking up system combined with a childish look and never feels too unfair.
For that reason I give it a 7.5/10
