I dont know why bad company 2 gets such good reviews. "best fps ever!" in what universe?

User Rating: 7.5 | Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3
Bad company 2 is a loose, repetitive and unbalanced shooting expierience that will make any fans of COD want to snap the disk in half.

The Good: fairly good graphics, varied scenaries, pretty good story, vehicles are fun to drive, guns do decent damage and aim well, some levels are great

The Bad: loose and inprecise movement, cheap scenary destruction, random deaths, unnecasery vehicles, Over the top explosions,no where near as many weapns as COD games, many of these issues are still present in multiplayer, very short campaign

As soon as i got past the prologue i realised i had made a mistake paying £18 for this game, this became more and more obvious once a arrived in the second level.

Most issues of bad company 2 are in the gameplay, for example i am used to COD and other shooters like MAG with fairly responsive movement but this game shows more clunky, cumbersome movement which makes you feel like a fat robot even with high sensitivity, the other issues include cheap and un needed destructible scenary. In red faction guerilla i loved the destructible scenary as it felt real and crumbled, collapsed etc.in bad company however a grenade launcher will simply make a neatly cut hole in a wall that feels like polestyrene, boring!!!

The worse thing about the scenary is that because its destructible the producers seem to think they can impress players by blowing buildings to the ground during every entrance to a new area of the map, however this feels disgracefully cheap and childish.

Every now and again they will also plonk a random vehicle in a narrow village area where you certainly do not need a vehicle at all, this is also annoying.
The final annoyance is random deaths, in COD you can normally tell when you might die as there are bullets flieing every where and you can see loads of enemies, but when it goes quiet then your safe. in bad company the scenary will be quiet and empty , your team mates will be mowing down one last enemy after a huge battle and then suddenly you'll go from full health to dead for no apparent reason.

i'm not going to rave for ever about the bad points, the story is exciting, the graphics of foreign jungles and arctic outposts are nice and quadbikes are so fun to drive !

Basically, if your rich and want to try a different type of FPS then buy it, if like me you are on a tight budget and want a new game to have fun on for 30 hours plus then DO NOT BUY BAD COMPANY 2

REVIEW UPDATED: After a final play of bad company 2 (to decide if i was going to sell it) i have discovered that it really does pick up a bit after the first few levels. You go from bland, uninteresting and inconsistent scenaries with toy like weapons to scaling mountains in a blizzard with nothing but a heavy pistol after being dramatically separated from your teammates. Trying to get to the otherside of a favela packed full of enemies is great fun as the destructibility becomes a bit more consistent beyond the first 4 levels so you can take any route , but watch out for falling buildings!!!

As the game progressess you'll end up in 2 against 50 fire fights inside abandoned castles and quadbiking across ambush filled deserts. Despite all this, unfortunately bad company 2 still dosn't really offer anything really special which means i still dont quite think it deserves its user or gamespot score.
Though i might hold onto it for a bit longer!?
