Battle: LA is a nice attempt at a good FPS, but it doesn't reach it's full potential.

I don't care what anyone says about Battle: Los Angeles, I loved it! The game, however comes out differently. BLA the game is an okay game from Konami, but if this is the best they can manage, they're better off going back to making Yu-Gi-Oh games.

First, I must give Konami some credit. Graphics wise it ranked up there near Call of Duty. Even with it's short length, BLA manages to cram some pretty nice scenery into each levels. The characters even look good. Speaking of characters...........

The characters make a nice representation of their movie counterparts. Even the guy who played Nantz in the movie voiced his video game counterpart. The only thing that irks me about them is that no one decided to put much effort into animating their mouths to synch up with the spoken lines. Other than that, they're fine.

Weapon wise, awful. There are only four, count em, FOUR weapons: An assault rifle that I can only assume is a M16 or close to it, a sniper rifle, a rocket launcher, and if you count it, the Humvee turret. That is just plain terrible. I mean how long does it take to make a gun? Couldn't they have added a pistol, or some sub-machine guns or a Light Machine gun? And don't get me started on how much ammo it takes to down an alien. You just about have to empty a clip with your M16 to kill one, which is why you need to stick with the sniper rife, which take a max of two shots to down an alien. Rocket launcher and Humvee Turret, forget about em cause they're only used for special things like cover fire and boss battles.

The game its self is just too damn short! I did a run through on easy and it took me all of 30 minutes to beat, with also unlocking over half of the achievements. The only reason I can think of anyone playing this again is to unlock all the achievements or all the game's unlockables (which you need to do to get one achievement) which does include some nice mods for the game.

To sum up, Battle: LA is fit for more of a handheld game scheme or for a day when heaven forbid your bored and you can't find any game to play. Battle: Los Angeles gets 7 blowed up alien drones out of ten.
