Battalion Wars will always be a true classic in the tactical shooter genre.

If there's one genre I suck really bad at, it's shooting games. So when I picked this game up, I was thinking: "This is going to be humiliating and boring as hell."

I was wrong. The best shooting game for the GameCube wasn't a letdown, it was far better than one.

Battalion Wars is a third-shooting tactical shooting game. It had it's fair share of goodies: It had 20 missions, it required a bit of stragey, the game on the outside was comical but on the inside it was all about insane gunfights, it was fun and addictive...and too many goodies to list.

The only downsides were that the camera could sometimes get in your way, and that it WAS easier than I expected...in a bad way. It was plain too easy, as if I never sucked at shooting games.

Oh, and did I mention the gunfights? They were AWESOME. It was the main reason I kept playing it even after I beaten the game. They were just insane.

Even so, I wish the game had co-op modes or battle modes. It would be great to see two friends taking their what they knew about war games and try to prove who was most superior. (I would always lose, so it wasn't a downside.)

Overall, Battalion Wars is a total bragain and a great war game. Spend five bucks on it. It's worth it.
