Not so perfect, but it does beat Batman Forever for the NES.

At the heart, this game is dark, dementing, and fun. Each level makes you feel like the Mr. Wayne in the tight rubber pants with great animations and fantastic gameplay. The game makes you feel more vulnerable than other Superheros which is smart because batman doesnt have unrealistic powers like superman, he is still human. The game uses this, like the movie, to make you have to scare the crap out of your enemys with such things as smoke and breaking stuff. I will admit, it can get dull, like Gamespot says, but it makes up for this in the fighting. Honestly, the whole point to scare most of them is to make them drop their weapon, so you can go chuck norris on their buttholes. Its good fun.

The level designs, even today, are pretty impressive. Its dark and batmanish all the time with good design and clever lighting placement. The levels follow the movie so if u missewd batman begins, try this out. The levels are linear, of course, but what else do you expect from a movie game. They are great no matter what. There is even a level where you ride in the new bat mobile, taking Tom Cruises wife back to the bat cave (dead serious). It is extremly intense, and is sorta like a burnout mini game, with all the explosions and such.

I enjoyed the game greatly and recomond to everyone, 2 years ago. Now we have Arkahm Asylum comming out, which is gunna be sweeet. So, I would just wait for it.
