Batman is back, better than ever!

User Rating: 9 | Batman: Arkham Trilogy NS

The good: All content, DLC and structure is left fully intact in all three games, action and stealth is top notch and true to the Batman style, can play this trilogy on tv or handheld, enough replay value for many years into the future.

The bad: The Wii U content with the shiny armour isn't available for Switch, the bat mobile can be harder to move around the city than normally with a grappling hook, be more beneficial if there's more characters to play than just Batman and Catwoman, Batman Origins is unavailable to play on this platform.

Batman has a long history of being a hero in a video game. It's not easy being an action star while carrying stealth elements that makes it unique, but the developers managed to pull it off very well. To get it out of the way, everything works well on the Switch. Since it's a successor to the Wii U with just Arkham City and Arkham Origins, the game works just fine with little crashes, thanks to a lot of polishes from the developers of the trilogy.

Assuming that players already played previous versions of this game before with the exception of Nintendo Switch, the stories work well in its own right. Arkham Asylum focuses purely inside the building controlled by Joker and Harley Quinn. Arkham City adds Catwoman to the mix, while moving to the city to handle much tougher bad guys than before. Arkham Knights adds the Batmobile and resolves the issues in all three games. All content for the trilogy is beneficial into the future. Plus, you can play this game anywhere, anytime thanks to a switch between TV and handheld mode.

But even though it's a superb game in its own right, there are sad omissions from the Wii U which would've made it exclusive to Nintendo Switch. The shiny armour is unavailable as an option to wear it too make the game easier. The bat mobile isn't well tuned to the city compared to just grappling and flying around the city. Lastly, it would've been cooled to play multiple characters than just Batman and Catwoman. Sadly, Batman Arkham Origins is the most absent which coud've made for a quadruple package but perhaps in the future, they might be able to reinstall it into the Switch to fully maximize the replayability of playing Batman from start to finish.

Out of all the trilogies I've seen so far, Batman Arkham Trilogy is the most ambitious on the Switch than any other consoles. Each Batman Arkham game works well in its own right. Even though, more could be done to make the trilogy more enjoyable, you'll be playing this for a very long time. Hopefully in the future, they'll include the Wii U exclusive shiny armour and Arkham Origins to really round out the package perfectly. Still, it's fun to enjoy what it's like to be Batman now that all three current games are available to play today. It's highly recommended for hardcore and casual fans alike.
