When it comes to Batman's history in the video game industry, it is not a very good one. That is all brushed aside as Batman Arkham Asylum is released by Rocksteady. It is without doubt the greatest Batman game, if not the best superhero game, ever to be put on the shelves. The gameplay style is so different from what you would expect from a superhero game, but it plays beautifully. It is like a combination of Bioshock's creepy atmosphere and Dead Space's gameplay. The best part of the game is the recognizable heroes and villains that you know and love. For example, obviously the Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and Bane. Finding clues in the game lead to character bios of other villains and heroes that you will recognize. The story is very well written as well. Joker leads Batman into a trap and takes over all of Arkham Asylum unleashing the supervillains within. It is truly a classic and it is a game that should not be missed by anyone. The only thing we can hope for now, is that a sequel is underway.
