One of the best games on the N64

User Rating: 9.5 | Banjo to Kazooie no Daibouken 2 N64
This game is one of my favorite games that I have ever played. I love the bosses, the creative levels, the moves, pretty much everything in the game. I played the first one of the series (Banjo Kazooie) when it came out, but I never really played this game until a few months ago. It's kind of sad that I haven't played it before then because it is one of my favorite games (like I said before). Before I start my review I should tell you the story so that you can understand the review better (and because GameSpot never really tells what the game's about).

*WARNING THIS PARAGRAPH CONTAINS SPOILERS*

This game starts off 2 years after the first one. For those who haven't played the first one at the end of it *SPOILER* the evil witch Gruntilda get's buried under a bolder and they think all is well, but because this is the sequel all is not well Gruntilda actually has 2 sisters that help her out. After that Gruntilda tries to kill Banjo and Kazooie but only ends up killing _________ (you'll have to play the game to find out). Gruntilda still has a horrible body (you can now see all the bones) and she decides to get life force from everyone at the island where Banjo and Kazooie live. Banjo and Kazooie must stop her by learning new movies and stopping the machine.

OK well that's the story, now I'll tell you the good parts of this game. You first start out where Banjo Kazooie live (Spiral Mountain), the witches house/cave is still there but you can only do 1 thing there, learn cheats since Cheato is there. Bottles is replaced by Jim Jars, his cousin, and instead of learning all the old moves (which you can learn at spiral mountain if you press B on the molehills) you get to learn a lot of new moves. For the people who have played Banjo Kazooie this is great news because you don't get to be bored and learn the moves you already know all over again. For the new players to this series this is kind of bad, but because you can always find out the moves by trial and error or, even better, going to the molehills the part is not really bad. This game also features Boss Battles, it's great because the first Banjo game only featured 1 real boss battle. This game features bosses from every level (9 levels in all) plus the monkey thing called Klungo (I'm hoping I spelled his name right). Some of these bosses are hard though (actually there's just 1 really hard boss). The next great thing in this game is the levels. There are 10 levels in all, but some of them you have to come back when you learn new moves (a real downer) but besides that 9 are fun, and 1 is huge, and uses up a lot of your time. My favorite level would have to be a theme park based level called Witchy World (there's just so much to do there). I also have to say that I'm happy they kept the humor in this game because that was one of my favorite elements of the previous game. The last thing I like about this game is that it actually has multiplayer!!!!!! It's pretty fun, and you can play all the mini games that you played in the main game. There's too many good things to say about this game, so I'll just add the rest down below. Well, now that I said what's good about this game, it's time to say what's bad.

Even though I love this game, I do have a few gripes about this it. The first thing I found was that for some reason the feathers had worse graphics then the first Banjo Kazooie. I don't really understand why they would do this but they did. The next gripe is that Banjo's sister,Tooty, never appears in this game unless you find the easter egg and all that says is that Tooty is missing, which doesn't make much sense unless she moved, but where could she have moved to? Anyway another gripe I have is that the race close to the end is so freakin' hard. I barely got the jiggy but I can't get the cheato page. The programers actually said that they messed up on that part, but why was the game released when they could've fixed that part?

Good
+ Lots of comedy
+ Long game
+ They made it so you don't have to keep on collecting music notes if you leave a world
+ Keeps all the old moves and adds tons of new moves
+ Epic Boss Battles
+ Multiplayer is very fun
+ Great level design
+ Fun minigames
+ You can control Mumbo and use his magic to help aid Banjo and Kazooie
+ New, better transformations
+ First person shooter parts!!!!! Some people hate this, but I love it, mostly because the controls are pretty much Perfect Dark controls
+ 1 world connects to all the other worlds (you'd understand if you had the game)
+ Platforming is fun
+ You can replay mini-games, boss battles, and movies that are in the game in the main menu

Bad
- Feathers are worse graphics then the previous game
- 1 extremely difficult part where the programers say they messed up
- Tooty isn't really in this game
