One of the few instances where the game is better than the movie.

User Rating: 8.5 | Ecks vs. Sever II: Ballistic GBA
From the get-go, this game really rocks. Yes it has the familiar "vague characters from a distance and pixelated monsters up close" graphics, but they are noticeably better. You can recognize the shapes as people. The arsenal of guns is quite amazing, from a knife to a sniper rifle and more. Also, the game is very difficult. However, it subconsciously teaches you to use the right tactic for each situation. Should you run into a room, machine gun blazing or sneak in and knife the guards? Soon, you won't even question it, you'll just be a master spy. It also shows off a few new gameplay techniques. For instance, you can actually stop and aim anywhere around the screen. Also, you can swim. And, believe it or not, it all works well. In fact, the control is probably the best component of the game. But not to be overlooked is the actual feeling of the game. No longer are streets empty, only filled with enemies. Actual pedestrians are milling about. This adds a whole new level of difficulty by forcing you to avoid shooting citizens. This also adds tension. During one level, you have to outrun a squad of rocket launcher wielding soldiers. You through a market, rockets filling the sky. The people of the city scatter in terror or run ahead of you. You can tell the soldiers are right behind you. Or in an infrared section, there are two blobs of color, one a person and the other an enemy. You have to act fast. The only bad parts of the game are the annoying difficulty(die and you return to the beginning), the somewhat scattered level maps, and the occasionally glitchy graphics.

Last Words: An excellent addition to any action fan or any GBA fan alike. Some may be put off at its look and difficulty. A great game for about $4.
