Right. Why did I never heard of this title when it was the old days? Weird, I should have, since this is the best strategy there is for SNES, in my opinion at least. Well, to be exact, Bahamut Lagoon is not plain strategy, it has also great elements of good ol' RPG mixed up. The thing works very well.

What makes this a good game? There are various reasons, and one of them is the ever-fascinating story. It's pretty dramatic, as the rebel forces fight against the great powers to make the world survive. This concept is pretty usual to RPG games, but Bahamut Lagoon tells it in a different way. It's like a fairytale.

You visit in various places through-out the game, and you will not be able to visit the previous places. This aspect makes the game a bit linear, since you'll progress in the game a round by round, but it doesn't matter. The story is so good that it keeps you hooked till the end.

One of the best things in this game are the graphics. They are one of the most beautiful and smooth graphics I've seen for this console. And when it comes to animation, wow. When you first time enter a battle with soldiers, you're astonished. The landscape looks also very good and not to forget the backgrounds. Top notch. Sounds are good, and musics are pretty usual yet beautiful. One can't complain the audio of the game.

Oh right. The fighting system is pretty familiar. You know, you have the weapons and you have the special abilities. Some can use magic, others use elemental powers. The classes vary from weak mages to heavy-built knights. Everything are equally important. The strategy is also very important, since in some stages, your moves determine your survival. Use your troops wisely, and command them well!

Also, this game has some replay value. It's just amazing, and it's all because of the fight system, since it's so fascinating. I can do nothing else than recommend this game. It can seem to be pretty hard first but once you get used to it, you're in the middle of a tale that doesn't let you out.

Cross-Knight, it's up to you.
