As with the other games in the series, there is not much of a change in the gameplay section. However, the story does progress. The game starts off with Marty trapped in a room, waiting for his treatment of the Citizen Plus program. He soon learns that Jennifer has already been treated to the program, while Doc is being currently treated. He however snaps Jennifer out of her treatment, and using her help, frees Doc from the clutches of Edna. Doc proceeds to fix the time machine, which takes 6 months, but he travels back 6 months to arrive just in time to help Marty escape Edna. Doc and Marty travel back to 1939 to prevent Doc from falling into love with Edna. However, Doc realizes that something is massively wrong with the time circuits, and instead of arriving 2 months before the science expo, they reach on the day of the expo. With time running out faster than expected, Marty realizes that Doc is too head over heels with Edna to forget and break up with her. Thus Marty tries to convince Edna to break up with Doc. Marty tries to prove to Edna that Doc is not the model citizen that she was lead to believe. While all this takes place, the old Doc from the current time feels sorry for Edna and walks out on the idea with the time machine. Will Marty be able to fix whatever went wrong in time?
