Awesome Possum is totally opposite of the title's suggestion, and a rip-off of Sonic in all of its directions.

Many people have called Bubsy a huge rip-off of Sonic, but at least Bubsy didn't have a spin dash. This, is a total rip-off of Sonic, because it also has a spin dash. The full title of the game is Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt. Totally original in antiangonist character names. You must guide Awesome Possum through 4 worlds of torture, and kick Dr. Machino's butt literally. The enemies in the game are robots, like Sonic's, and since Awesome is fast, this clinches its chances at being a Sonic rip-off.

Graphically, the game isn't what I would expect from a Genesis game. It looks a lot like crap. Awesome's movements are awkward and slow, but the main problem is the slow fram rate, making it look like an enchanced Nes game.

Well, the game has one positive. The game does have digitized voicing, unique for the time. It has a huge problem, though, it's overused. Literally every time you do something, the possum talks, saying stuff like "I'm awesome, don't pollute". It gets terribly annoying.

If that wasn't enough, the plot is about cleaning up stuff. You must collect cans and answer questions about the environment. That gets annoying for school haters, and annoying for those who just want a break from school.
