A fun, addictive, simple and cheap PSN game that deserves far more acknowledgement.

Astro tripper in an indie game by (of course) a small developer by the name of pompom. Astro tripper is a perfect example of quality indie games that we oh so lack in this day and age. Astro tripper won't wow you or amaze you with it's visuals or sound but it will give you hours of alien killing old school fun. This is really all astro tripper is. It is fun. And at under $5 you can't complain about what you get. There are 4 worlds which are very different and have completely different enemies, the first two worlds have 3 levels and the last two worlds have 4 levels. Every world ends with a boss fight (all of which are good) and will award you with a challenge game for each of the 4 worlds you beat. These challenge levels are pretty much survival mode for what ever world you just beat and specalize in you fighting 1 to 3 different enemies till you die. There is an unlockable hardest mode for each world and each difficulty and challenge level has seperate online score boards. Astro tripper is defferent than other shooters in that each level is arena style and you can only look either left or right when shooting (which you switch on the fly in game) and you have two different weapons, one shoots straight and the other is spread-shot both of which you will upgrade. Astro tripper really is a quality game and at only $5 you get a fun and addictive (shoot for high scores)
old school shooter with 4 worlds consisting of 14 levels with 3 difficulties and 4 challenge games with leaderboards. If you love getting high scores or old-school shooters than dig in. You won't be sorry you did.
