Konami announced today that its PlayStation 2 mech action game Zone of the Enders will include a playable demo of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The promotion was previously announced for the Japanese market, but Konami confirmed today that it will follow suit in the US. The Metal Gear Solid 2 demo will also be available separately at participating retailers. Zone of the Enders is currently scheduled for a US release in late March 2001, while Metal Gear Solid 2 is slated for a North American release in the fall of 2001.

"Zone of the Enders is kicking off Konami's 2001 action lineup on the PlayStation 2 with a powerful one- two punch," said Rick Naylor, action brand manager for Konami of America. "With the purchase of Zone of the Enders, gamers will both experience the thrill of the game's fast-paced mech combat and get a chance to play one of next fall's most anticipated games."
