Dungeons & Dragons game Neverwinter, the Xbox One's first MMO, is set to expand in a big way soon with a new expansion called Elemental Evil. It's the game's biggest-ever update, and contains content from the previously released PC content drops Fury of the Feywild, Shadowmantle, and Curse of Icewind Dale.

Elemental Evil also raises the level cap, and introduces the Oathbound Paladin playable class and more adventure zones to explore. It also includes four additional end-game campaigns and more dungeons. In addition, players can expect a range of "quality of life" improvements alongside the update, which arrives on September 8--just a couple weeks from now.

Neverwinter was released for PC in 2013 and came to Xbox One earlier this year, where it's seen more than 2 million players since release in March. The free-to-play game requires an Xbox Live Gold membership.

Publisher Perfect World said last year that Neverwinter's console release was "starting with Xbox One," suggesting a PS4 version could be in the works. For a closer look at the Elemental Evil expansion, take a look at the images in the gallery below.
