Xbox One Finally Gets ITV Hub Catchup App

ITV's content now available to watch on Xbox One.

ITV's catalog of television is finally available to watch on Xbox One, as the network's app is available now on the Xbox Store.

ITV Hub is the rebranded version of ITV Player. You'll need an ITV account to watch shows on demand, but it's free to sign up. It's only available to use in the UK, though Eurogamer reports that international users can access content by simply switching their consoles' regions in Settings.

The news comes over two years after BBC iPlayer came to Xbox One, and more than three years after Channel 4's equivalent app did the same. PlayStation 4 still doesn't have an ITV Hub application, though the network hinted in October 2016 that one might be in the works.

BBC iPlayer was recently deactivated on Wii U after a license agreement ended. The console's replacement, Nintendo Switch, won't support any video streaming services at launch.

"All of our efforts have gone toward making the Nintendo Switch system an amazing dedicated video game platform, so it will not support any video-streaming services at launch," Nintendo said at the time. "However, support for video-streaming services is being considered for a future update."
