Xbox Live bug asks The Wolf Among Us Season Pass owners pay again for Episode 2

Telltale says that an update will resolve the issue within several days and is sending out free codes until then.

The Wolf Among Us Season Pass owners on Xbox 360 are being asked to pay again for Episode 2: Smoke & Mirrors when attempting to download it.

Telltale is aware of the issue and is working with Microsoft on releasing a title update to resolve the the problem and subsequent episodes covered by the Season Pass. Telltale expects the update will be available within "several days."

In the mean time, Season Pass owners on Xbox 360 will receive a system message code that will allow them to download the second episode at no additional cost. If you haven't bought a Season Pass yet but intend to do so, Telltale says that it may take up to 48 hours until you receive the same same system message with the redeemable code.

You can find more instruction on how to get around this bug on Telltale's support page.

The Wolf Among Us Episode 2: Smoke & Mirrors was released on Feb. 5. Our review found that it lacked some of the first episode's intensity.

Never hurts to ask.

I will wait until all the episodes are out then go half price (first I got free as with Walking Dead).

@Nintendo_Man  it was already 1/2 price during the Xmas sales. First ep free, other eps for $10 on XBL.

Definitely no point buying early though.

I bought the season pass at half price last year (Yeah! Woo!) and I'll play the game when all episodes are out. I received the code days ago, before I even knew this issue existed.

Serious question, is the title of this article misleading? Is it a problem with XBLive or a bug with the game itself that needs to be patched by Telltale?

lol I still haven't even started the first one I bought.

Are we sure this isn't deliberate by Microsoft? :)

@ShutUpFanboys @Martyr77  No.

Season Pass holders had no problem on PSN, Steam, iOS, Android, etc.  So Microsoft, like many other things, has to get its stuff together.

Thanks for posting this days late. Luckily though this got fixed with codes being handed out Thurday. Seriously post when it happens. This was a big story.

Yeah, it happened to me.  I immediately received a free code and downloaded the second episode.  It was painless.

Really? Cuz this sounds similar to what happened to me with Walking Dead on my iPad!  I got the Walking Dead Ep. 1 for free then decided to buy the rest of season 1 and 400 days.  Money was deducted from my account but nothing downloaded.  I tried everything within the App  to get the other episodes but the game just wanted me to pay again for them.  I emailed the company but of course they were no help.

Oops!  Well at least they're going to fix it, unlike in the Arkham Origins article.

@RicanV  That doesn't make sense. You should have said the season pass was a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Wow. How the hell did you become a mod? You're one of the biggest trolls I've ever seen on any site.

I like this game - the advanced physics used are of higher levels when compared to the division

About damn time it came out
But you gotta wonder how many ppl are gonna buy future episodic games at launch, it almost seems impossible that this huge wait isent going to affect their future sales

@demondogx  I'm not going to. I bought the season pass. Then I waited six months and needed a fucking code to get the next episode. Telltale screwed me. I'm not buying another one of there games until all five episodes have been released.

Same here. I haven't even bought the first episode of season 2 of The Walking Dead yet, and I don't intend to until the entire season is available. It's proving hard to wait for The Wolf Among Us, though, since I already played the first episode and really enjoyed it. Just gotta stay strong.

@Fursnake Do you realize that this is caused by Telltale and Telltale is the one needs to make the needed update?

I would prefer to poke fun at Micro$oft rather than Telltale.

I tried...and failed.

I picked up the first episode for free on XBL and thought it was really good. Got rid of the box since then... maybe I'll finish it up on Steam :D

Pretty sure cleversherlock is the pathetic troll known as yoda, Spock, theonewhoknocks, ect. All the arrogance and self-entitlement fit the bill. Man that loser sure goes through a lot of aliases.

On the subject of the season pass, I could make an obvious greedy Microsoft joke, but these bugs are more common than people think.
