With Forza Horizon 2's September 30 release date closing in, the game has now reached an important milestone. Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 and Xbox One racing game has gone gold, meaning development is finished, and the game is headed to factories for mass production.

Microsoft announced the news in the slick Vine below. It shows professional racer Tanner Foust driving Forza Horizon 2's signature Lamborghini Huracan and peeling out as it's announced that the game had gone gold.

GameSpot recently went hands-on with Forza Horizon 2, and you can watch the video above to see the game in action and get our thoughts about it. If you want to try the game for yourself, you're in luck, as a demo for the game is available today on Xbox One.
