Psygnosis announces artists who will lend talents to Wipeout 3.

In its continuing efforts to supply Wipeout titles with the latest in electronica beats, Psygnosis announced on Wednesday the artists that will lend their talent to the upcoming Wipeout 3 for the PlayStation. For this third Wipeout installment, Psygnosis has hired DJ and musical producer Sasha as musical director. Sasha has helped Psygnosis choose tracks and has overseen the development of the soundtrack. He has also composed five original, exclusive music tracks - each named after one of the racing teams in the game (Auricom, Goteki 45, Feisar, Icaras and Pirhana).

"It makes sense that the sort of music coming from the DJ culture would be the first soundtrack to a video game," said Sasha. "When you're spinning at a club, in a sense you are soundtracking the evening. What you play is directly related to what happening on the dance floor. Soundtracking any other visual is very similar."

Sasha also selected tunes from such artists as the Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Paul Van Dyk, The Propellerheads, and MLK. The Chemical Brothers (who supplied tunes for the original Wipeout title) will supply the song "Under the Influence," from their Surrender album.
