Wing Commander Movie in March

Blair and his maverick get ready to kick alien butt on the big screen.

Comments

20th Century Fox announced Monday that Wing Commander the Movie will release to the theaters nationally on March 12. Based on Origin Systems' popular Wing Commander series, the movie follows the exploits of a young space pilot named Christopher Blair and his team as they fight an impending invasion by an alien race (maybe the Kilrathi - we don't know). Blair will be played by Freddie Prinze Jr. (from She's All That). Other actors in the movie include fellow pilot Maniac (Matthew Lillard of Scream) and superior officer, Deveraux (Saffron Burrows of Circle of Friends).

You may have heard of the movie's director, Chris Roberts, since he created the game for Origin. His company, Digital Anvil, along with No Prisoners Productions, helped to present the movie with Origin Systems and The Carousel Picture Co.

Could this be the big hit gamers have been waiting for? We'll only have to wait a month to find out... although it is interesting to have no hype about a movie that's only a month away. The film will be rated PG-13 just in case you think you can't get in.
