Windows game Galactic Reign shutting down
Turn-based strategy game from Resident Evil developer Slant Six Games will be pulled from store August 15 just five months after release.
Windows game Galactic Reign, a turn-based strategy title from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City developer Slant Six Games, is shutting down this week just five months after release.
The $5 game will be pulled from the Windows Store on August 15, Microsoft has announced (via Eurogamer). The game's servers will be permanently closed effective December 31, 2013.
Concerning why Galactic Reign is shutting down, Microsoft did not give a straightforward answer.
"We continually explore new games and entertainment concepts," the company said. "Galactic Reign was a great cloud-based video rendering game exploration that we are going to bring to a close."
There are no plans to develop any new Galactic Reign games, Microsoft said.
