Actor Will Poulter was lined up to appear in Amazon's big-budget The Lord of the Rings fantasy TV show, but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. The actor has now shed a little more light on his exit from the show, saying he had to "shake that one off."

Speaking to GQ, Poulter said being an actor has conditioned him for disappointment, and this helped him get through what happened with The Lord of the Rings. And the future is bright for Poulter, as he's lined up to play Adam Warlock in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

"As an actor, you're very used to things not going your way and having to adapt accordingly," he said of leaving The Lord of the Rings. "I'm more used to things not going my way. So I just had to shake that one off, and I'm very grateful that on this occasion with Guardians I'm able to do it."

Amazon's Lord of the Rings show is scheduled to premiere on Prime in September 2022. It still remains largely a mystery, but a piece of teaser art suggests a connection to Valinor.

As for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2023, with writer-director James Gunn set to return. Production on the highly anticipated film recently begun.
