Don't Starve for Wii U comes with the original game and the Reign of Giants expansion. This adds more characters, seasons, and enemies, among other things. The Wii U version also leverages the GamePad for inventory management and to see the map. The game also supports off-TV mode via the GamePad.
Originally released in 2013 for PC before being ported to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita the following year, Don't Starve casts players as a scientist named Wilson. Alone in a scary world, players need to keep Wilson alive by foraging for food and supplies, as well as fending off enemies. Crafting also plays a major role.
GameSpot scored the game a 7/10. Critic Nathan Meunier wrote in his review: "If you're up to the challenge and precariousness of exploring this stark landscape bristling with danger, Don't Starve delivers unique charm, exhaustive depth, and brutal punishment."
