When is Borderlands 2 coming to PlayStation Vita?

March 18 release date revealed on Twitter was posted in error, 2K Games says.

Earlier today, the official 2K Games Twitter account stated that Borderlands 2 would launch for PlayStation Vita on March 18, 2014, but that date is now "incorrect," the publisher said.

"We apologize for a tweet about a release date for Borderlands 2 on Vita which was posted in error. The release date mentioned is incorrect," the studio said.

"We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused."

So when is Borderlands 2 coming to PS Vita? As announced during Gamescom last summer, the game is slated to arrive sometime in 2014, but no firm date has been announced yet. It also remains unclear if the game will support Cross-Buy.

Borderlands 2 for PS Vita is a collaborative effort between 2K, Sony, and Iron Galaxy Studios, the independent developer behind fighting game Divekick. The PS Vita version of Borderlands 2 will feature "all the unique benefits" of the device, though it is not clear if any of the game's downloadable content will be available for the PS Vita version.

Borderlands 2 has been a hit on consoles. It has shipped over 7.5 million copies and is on track to become the best-selling title in the history of 2K Games.

who else have this feeling that it will be a mess like Duke Nukem Forever and Alien Colonial Marines.

Why do people hate the game? I though it was well loved. I consider it to be the saints row (2,3) of Rpg's. This game is not just funny it keeps you playing and the dlc is better than most adding whole new worlds etc. Don't hate the game, hate the player ;)

This game would be awesome on the Vita, unfortunately I wont wait longer than March, I'll have to sell it now, sorry Vita, you failed to impress due to a lack of appropriate games for the device that suit my taste and expectations. Would have love a Just Cause 2 port even.

They only pissed off the 13 or so owners of a vita so I don't see much of an issue here.

Wow, so we finally get a true AAA game but it is one of the most mediocre and boring games out there.

Smoking a cigar by a campfire while playing a game such as this is never a bad thing. That's why I love handheld gaming.

I'll be ready when they are.

Good one, too bad only like some 3 people own a vita.

Might get it if only for an excuse to dust off the vita.  If it doesn't have online co-op it will be so sad.  Still, would be nice to get one solid fps on the thing (unless you are a killzone fan).

Hmm I have played a lot of borderlands 2 lately and got all the trophies. If the Vita version has separate trophy list then YES I would buy it. Or if the Vita version has new characters, story or anything that is new in the game then YES I will buy it. Other than that I'm not buying.

I already have Borderlands 2 for my PS3 and my PC, doubtful I'll get it again for my Vita - unless they allow save game transfer then I'll consider it.

When you have a potable system that is relying on ports you know things are going bad.

If I had a Vita I would consider picking this up. I love the Borderlands series.

Not that Borderlands 2 isn't a good game, but I bet the majority of those 7.5 million sales were through Steam when the game was discounted.

I'm impressed by the Vita's ability to run this game, but Borderlands isn't that fun of a game. An Elder Scrolls port would be ah-fucking-mazing.

I already have it on a console so won't be buying it for the vita.  What I really want to know is when will The Walking Dead: Season 2 become available for the PS Vita.  Come on already, at least give a press release about its availability.

Will be great. Playing it right now on PC with the 4-player mod. But still willing to buy it again.

Who would want to play this on a handheld device? I don't see it selling well.

Borderlands 2 has become one of the BEST games I've ever played, and I'm gaming since the NES. A masterpiece game for me.

When will anyone actually care when BL2 is coming to the Vita?

Maybe March 18, 2014 is the release date for GTA 5 on PC?

@raddys2001The potable system that I work with doesn't rely on ports.  Evap will make 30 tons of distilled water per day while underway.

@SnakeEyesX80Well they did put in the word SHIPPED, so it has to be the hard copy of the games.

@grbolivarpew pew pew pew pew pew pew, level up , get new guns, pew pew pew pew... got boring quickly for me, maybe because I played a lot of the first one.

@pozium Its one of those games, at least for me , somebody had to show me the good parts of the game and how to play it to the fullest.  GTA was also the same way for me until somebody showed me how to enjoy the game to the fullest.

You really need to play these games in co-op. That's where it shines.

@ShepardCommandr it's like is diablo was an fps. what's not to like? you don't like headshots or something? Plus the world/level design is pretty awesome.

Probably because you played it solo. It's a boring grind solo.

@Halloll @grbolivarO.K. I have a solution: press select, then go one page to the right. Congrats! you've just found your skill trees! select a skill to add a point to!

(P.S, try adding a point to intelligence)

@spartanx169x @poziumI love the RPG element they put into this game. there a thousand different builds for each charecter, each with its own strengths and each an absolute blast. you gotta mix it up, create your own builds through trial and error, create other charecters, hunt loot with friends. I have over a month of game time into this game and I still am not bored. The loot system is also great. the moment that legendary youve been hunting drops is invigorating. the references and effects on both the legendary and unique weapons have always made me laugh, and the effects they have give great advantages, but always with an even disadvantage. whether it be heat seeking acid rounds or a shotgun-rocket launcher hybrid, it is always worth it.

@canuckbiker Its even free now of PS+ and I don't still have the need for it. Played a couple of levels of PC and Yes, it was a solid shooter, but that was just about it for me. The moment I dropped the controller, i literally forgot about the game.

I might give it a shot again

@canuckbikerSo how does the matchmaking work exactly?  I'm about 70% of the way through the game and I never tried to be randomly matched with someone because a coworker said he tried to play with his buddies but they were level 50 and he was a level 1 and it just wasn't fun because he couldn't face the enemies.  I like to play with someone but I'm not sure how it would work because maybe they've completed missions I haven't and vice versa.

spartanx169x
spartanx169x

@canuckbikerThe comedy thru out the game is great. But if you are not paying attention to it, its not as fun. Its like GTA in that regard, if you are not looking for the comedy within it, you miss a big part of what makes the game great.

tylerman251
tylerman251

@Silverline62 @RiKanKiDD@DiverseGameryou idiots can go suck on call of duty and killzone. the reason i like this game is because it is different. you could spend hours with your friends and family hunting down massive bosses with one of 5 million different weapons, working together towards common goals. this game has more customization than all of the call of duty games combined. times two. there are several thousand ways to use each respective charecters skill trees to eliminate the enemy, be it driving a flaming buzz saw through their face or rigging your turret with a massive bomb. this game will keep you busy hunting down legendary loot, or just playing a casual game with your schoolmates.

this game has variety with a touch of comedy, something call of duty will never have.

Pretty much what pyro1245 said. I play with my girlfriend ( 2 tvs, 2 ps3's ) by inviting her on my friends list, but I played the first with a couple random people near my level.

@DasMitten @canuckbiker there's a list of games with players levels and quest. you pick the one that's right for you. Obviously don't join a lvl 50 game at lvl 1
