Development on the Wheel of Time, an interactive action-adventure game using the Unreal engine and based on Robert Jordan's best-selling series of fantasy novels of the same name, has progressed to the point where a microcosm - a "small model of gameplay in order to prove out the fundamental design" as designer Glen Dahlgren from Legend Entertainment put it - has been completed and is being shown to publishers.

While still far from being complete, the microcosm shows off the impressive architecture that the Unreal engine is capable of, as well as character animation, source lighting, and gameplay fundamentals. As a plus, Dahlgren released ten new screenshots of the game in its microcosm state, showing off the detailed architecture as well as a few fearsome trollocs from the game world, with more to come in the near future.
