Blizzard Entertainment has released screenshots of its upcoming Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans, a graphic adventure game set in the Warcraft universe.

Lord of the Clans takes place after the Warcraft II expansion pack, Beyond the Dark Portal. The humans have won the war, and a small number of ragged castoffs are all that remains of the once proud Orcish hordes. The player controls Thrall, an Orc raised in servitude by the corrupt human Lieutenant Blackmoore, and he must reunite the clans and lead his Orcish brethren to victory.

Inspired by adventure game classics such as Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle, Lord of the Clans uses a traditional inventory-based puzzle system and third-person perspective. And Blizzard promises plenty of humor as well, a promise which should come as no surprise from the folks who put the line "Why do you keep touching me?" in their first fantasy wargame.
