Vivendi Universal acquires Massive Entertainment

The French publisher acquires the Swedish developer of Ground Control.

Swedish developer Massive Entertainment has announced that it has been acquired by Vivendi Universal, the France-based publisher that also currently carries games from Blizzard Entertainment, Sierra Online, and Mythic Entertainment.

"We are extremely confident that the combined forces of Massive Entertainment's development skills and VU Games' marketing expertise will bring value and great products to the market," said Christophe Ramboz, president and COO of VU Games International. Massive Entertainment has previously created the graphically impressive real-time strategy game Ground Control , as well as various games for handhelds and mobile phones.
