Sega of America has announced plans to bring Virtual On Marz to the PlayStation 2 in North America. Virtual On Marz is structured a little differently from previous games in the Virtual On series in that it features a full single-player campaign mode where players will have to defend bases, attack convoys, and engage in heated two-on-two fights with other virtualoids. The game will also include some other features, such as a head-to-head multiplayer mode, 40 characters, and various unlockable features. Virtual On Marz will also make use of the PlayStation 2's dual-analog-stick controller setup by re-creating the dual-stick setup used for the arcade Virtual On games.

"Virtual On Marz is mech combat meets street brawling in a white-knuckled battle royal to save the galaxy," said Mike Fischer, vice president of marketing at Sega of America. "Fans of the classic series will be thrilled by the new story mode and massive unlockable archives. Newcomers won't know what hit them."

Virtual On Marz is scheduled for release in November 2003.
