Uncharted 3 survival mode DLC drops March 13

New co-op game type available next week as free download for Fortune Hunters' Club members, $6 otherwise; final content drop arriving next month.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception isn't finished growing yet. The PlayStation 3-exclusive adventure game will welcome the co-op Shade Survival mode downloadable content next week, developer Naughty Dog has announced.

Uncharted 3 welcomes the nasty Djinn next week.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog today, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli announced that the Shade Survival mode for Uncharted 3 will arrive on the PlayStation Network on March 13.

Previously, the content was scheduled to arrive sometime in March. A trailer for the DLC is embedded below.

The co-op Shade Survival mode will be free to Fortune Hunters' Club members, or $6 otherwise. The prepurchase system gives players all Uncharted 3 DLC at a discounted rate.

As for the mode itself, the co-op Shade Survival game type has players fighting off wave after wave of increasingly difficult Djinn foes. According to Naughty Dog, there are eight total rounds, with Djinn enemies getting tougher and better equipped in later battles.

On top of announcing the release date for the co-op Shade Survival mode, Naughty Dog today revealed that the final wave of DLC for Uncharted 3 will arrive in April.

So, one more piece of DLC left, and we have yet to see any new maps. Nice one, Naughty Dog.

NO!! I hated those f#%$@n Djinn!!! Those things kicked my ass repeatedly on Crushing difficulty!!! Especially that one segment with the fountains towards the end of the chapter!! Made me want to snap my controller with the amazing forces of Judge Judy, Dr. Phil, David Hassellhoff, and a thousand splendid suns!! Why the hell would I buy a DLC dedicated to me getting my sorry butt whooped by these weirdos?

No thanx Naughty Dog. Releasing rehashed maps from UC2 than charging $10 per map pack. All the DLC shoulda been carried over from UC2. ND wanted to be like COD and there MP suffered and was a Epic Fail because of it. I got UC3 free with my 320GB PS3 after my 40GB finally failed on me after 3 yrs. The bottom line is UC3 coulda been great like UC2 MP but its just terrible.

Hmm, haven't played Uncharted 3 in a while- may have to go back to it now, just after I finished playing Kingdoms of Amalur. :p

shayan_47..couldn't agree more...i never got through uncharted b/c the combat was just not fun...it takes way to many bullets to kill people, it becomes more about ammo management than just shooting

Normally armed enemies needed a whole clip to die, but now with fire, they need every single bullet that you can find on the ground to die. not gonna be fun.( personal Opinion )

Its probably going to be the iram of the pillars levels just rehashed in places. Starting to think all ND did was pull a capcom and rip us off with dlc that's probably already on blu-ray disc itself. Still mp is awesome just would have liked to see playstation heroes pack return.

one thing so far with the except fpr this dlc, is that the others have just been old maps, which i find pointless and annoying. why pay for old maps when you could of just stuck with uncharted 2. I am hoping there will be NEW maps one day lol.

Eh, not seeing a whole lot of "new" here. Sure, the enemies look cool when they're on fire, but what else do you have? Also, I think I still saw a green ring on the ground and the player was inside of it, which reminds me of Siege. If this is supposed to be be a straight Survival mode, there had better not be small areas that the players can't leave in order to score points.
