Crave Entertainment announced new details on Wednesday of its upcoming games based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) license. The company has landed a five-year contract to use the martial arts license from SEG Sports.

The first of the Ultimate Fighting Championship games will be landing on the Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast platforms in Q4 2000. "This exclusive license covers all game systems and allows us to push the envelope and actually form a new brand of fighting games," said Holly Newman, executive vice president of publishing at Crave. "This full-contact, mixed martial arts sport has proven to be eminently successful throughout the world. It has a huge fan base, and now we can deliver the intense fighting of the UFC to gamers."

The Ultimate Fighting Championship TV events consist of martial arts competitions that have been labeled the "Olympics of martial arts fighting." UFC is seen in the US on satellite and pay-per-view television, and is also watched in countries like Great Britain, Spain, China, France, Japan, and Mexico.
