Nintendo today released figures showing that the combined sales of the original Nintendo DS and the revamped Nintendo DS Lite have sold more than 4 million units in the UK.

The figures come from official UK sales body Chart Track and also show that Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? has cracked the 1 million domestic sales mark.

Including More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima, the total for Nintendo's two brain training titles has reached 1.5 million units in the UK.

Nintendo UK's general manager, David Yarnton, commented on the figures at an event in London today by saying that the company was realizing its aims of expanding the gaming audience. He said, "Brain Training is now Nintendo's top-selling game in the whole history of the company. That means that more than one in four people who own a DS in the UK have played Brain Training."

He also added that in the UK, the game has remained in the top 10 UK all-formats chart since its release back in June 2006.
