At the end of May, Ubisoft announced that three new multiplayer maps for its popular Xbox and PC espionage game Splinter Cell Chaos Theory were coming "soon." But cyberspies who have been frantically checking the downloadable content pages for the Xbox and PC have come up empty-handed.
Now, on the official Web site for the third Sam Fisher saga, Ubisoft has announced that the first of the downloadable Xbox multiplayer maps will be available in the next two weeks. The versus map, titled Steel Squat, is already available for the PC.
Two more maps cooperative maps, Nuclear Plant and UN HQ, are expected to be released simultaneously on both platforms "during the summer." Ubisoft today also announced that a new map, Polar Base, will also be available "by the end of the summer." Polar Base will be a versus map.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is rated M for Mature and retails for $49.99 on the Xbox and $49.99 on the PC. The game was also released on the GameCube, DS, and PlayStation 2. For more information on the game, sneak over to GameSpot's full review.
