Ubi Soft has issued a statement about the technical problems experienced by some players of its latest role-playing game, Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. The publisher apologized for the frustration and inconvenience encountered by some players and promised to release a patch addressing the problems as quickly as possible. The company denied having knowingly released a product that had installation and uninstallation problems, stating, "It would be senseless for a software publisher to do so."

"We are true fans of Pool of Radiance here, and have labored for many years to deliver a worthy sequel to the many D&D products we created in the past," the company stated. "Pool of Radiance is a huge game. We had more QA personnel working on this title than any other product we have published. Ubi Soft is committed to making this right."
