Ubi Soft has announced that it will publish Dragon's Lair 3D, Dragonstone's upcoming fantasy adventure game based on the classic animated arcade game Dragon's Lair. The game will let players assume the role of Dirk the Daring, a valiant knight, on a quest to rescue a beautiful princess from the castle of an evil wizard. Players will have to think through challenging puzzles and fight their way through a series of dangerous enemies in order to complete their mission.

Dragon's Lair 3D will include more than 150 new animations for Dirk that let the hero run, jump, roll, sneak, climb, and perform a variety of other actions. The game features a hand-painted 3D world made up of 15 large levels that contain more than 40 different environments and more than 250 rooms filled with traps, puzzles, and power-ups.

Dragon's Lair 3D is scheduled for release by Ubi Soft this fall for the PC, Macintosh, and Microsoft Xbox. Encore Software will publish the game for the Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube.
