Auran Games announced that Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 has gone gold and can now be purchased from the developer's official Web site. The game, which will be released in North America through Oteeva later this month, allows players to take control of everything from historic steam locomotives to modern high-speed electric trains.

"The Trainz team is excited about the anticipated reception that TRS2004 will receive," said Tony Hilliam, Auran's marketing director. "We're sure everyone will enjoy the new industry resource system, the steam locos, the driver command system, and all the new content. Even better than that, what is in the box is really just the beginning. The amount of custom content that users can download and install with a few mouse clicks will ensure that the experience continues to expand every day."
